HG Photocloth Featured in Sports Illustrated 2012 Swimsuit Issue

Headline Graphics of Encinitas announced the release of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition where their custom HG Photocloth was used on multiple Quiksilver surfboards and photographed with beautiful SI models. The models posed on, near and alongside the unique, one-of-a-kind boards. Each board features an image of the posing model as well as Sports Illustrated and Quiksilver logos.

Quiksilver teamed up with Sports Illustrated to create 10 special edition photograph surfboards with cover model Kate Upton and other Sports Illustrated top models Alyssa Miller, Anne V, and Irina Shayk, just to name a few.

Quiksilver contacted Headline Graphics to output the images on their proprietary HG Photocloth fabric. Headline Graphics uses an exclusive process to produce graphics which can be laminated onto a surfboard or stand-up paddleboard. When properly applied, it produces a vibrantly colored board that is not only durable and fully rideable, but also a piece of personal art. The process provides photographic detail unmatched on any other fabric. HG Photocloth is produced using UV resistant inks which allows the board to be used in the sun without fading. It is applied during the glassing process when the board is created.

Each Sports Illustrated surfboard was specially handcrafted by the surf industry's most sought after Quiksilver shapers including Michael Baron, legendary Simon Anderson, Christian Bradley, Brett Warner and Mark Phipps.

Quiksilver has partnered with the Gilt Group to auction a select few of the Quiksilver/SI boards. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Nature Conservancy's beach and ocean conservation work. Over the past few years, HG Photocloth boards have been used for many promotional giveaways, fundraising efforts, and corporate branding including: MAC Cosmetics, Roxy, Jaguar, Mini Cooper, Jack Johnson, The Beach Boys, Will Ferrell/Cancer for College, Rob Machado, Bud Lite, Tony Hawk, L'Oreal, and Vitamin Water.
